The Quick Guide to:

Blue Pool Bay, Gower

What is Blue Pool Bay?

Nestled along the rugged Gower coastline, Blue Pool Bay is a secluded inlet of crystalline waters in a dramatic seaside setting.

Also known as Broughton Bay Blue Pool, its name comes from the brilliant sapphire and turquoise hues that swirl in the tidal pools as waves crash over rock formations.

At low tide, traverse down stainless steel ladders bolted into the cliff to find hidden coves and sea-sculpted caves waiting to be explored.

It’s a little-known, almost ethereal destination.

Why you should visit

Escape the ordinary at this lesser-visited natural haven.

Peaceful and remote, it attracts far fewer crowds than other Welsh beauty spots.

Linger on tranquil trails that wind through wildflowers and grassy dunes, breathe in salty breezes, picnic on the sandy shore, paddle in radiant shallows, and admire coastal views where the celadon sea meets azure sky in a watercolor-worthy panorama.

Where is it?

On the western tip of the Gower Peninsula, about 45 minutes west from Swansea, you’ll find Blue Pool Ba.

Parking is available but it is a bit of a hike to get to the bay.

The paths down to the pools and coves involve steep steps and uneven terrain.

Prepare to be awestruck by the landscapes.
